Devils from the Sierra Nevada [Atanquez, Sierra Nevada, Colombia]

“The Dance of the Devils” is an ancient tradition kept for centuries on the Colombia's Caribbean coast. A colorful celebration of Corpus Christi is held in the Kankuamo Indians territory every year. This Christian religious event usually coincides with the summer solstice, which has always been the key point for the native cultures and for the black African slaves. Due to this confluence, the Kankuamo myths, the African animistic rites and other Pre-Columbian features have blended with the Spanish Catholic festival into a lively spectacle.
The whole photostory will come up shortly.

My bike on the top

Nevzdávám to.

So yesterday I buried my bike

Well, in fact I didn't buried it physically, but I carried its remains to the scrap company. Now I'm passing through of the photos and thinking back. Here in the photoblog are also photos with it,
Still-life with my bike, or
My bike on the top

I have to say, we made a lot of adventures and saw a lot of things during those six years and nearly twenty thousand kilometres. I always chose holiday destination here in
Czech Rep according to possibilities of interisting cycle trips, and most of the photos here in photoblog or older was done thanks to my bike. We, I mean me and my bike, enjoyed also
a lot of the adrenaline, for example during bike raicing Muchovman 2006, then I lay two days in hospital. We also enjoyed few scratches and gashes during common accidents, after the last one
heavy I'm okay for now, it unfortunately did not survive...

Once, I rode home from the bike trip, suddenly CRASH! And Chronicle editor had a theme

What next?
I'm not giving up. For the present I'm passing through a bike catalogues and searching. Requests are simple: it must be "BIKE", with its own individuality and it can be the love at
first sight.I'll see...

Only she...

Construction boom in Andalucia [ Malaga, Spain ]

A tower crane on a construction site during sunset, Malaga, Spain, 18 May 2007. The construction boom in coastal areas of Andalucia was driven by demand for holiday or retirement homes, often for sun-seeking Europeans from the UK, Finland or Sweden, and by the strong immigration, which provided a cheap workforce.

Glue sniffing kids [ Managua, Nicaragua ]

Hundreds of kids struggle on the streets of Managua, sniffing glue to avoid hunger and get out of the misery. The glue is the cheapest drug available in every slum in Latin America. It is widely sold to the kids because there is no government control, neither restriction. The police can not intervene because the glue is not legally considered as a drug. Many sniffers end up with permanent brain damage, their motion ability is reduced, some of them keep in unstoppable tremor till the end of the life.

Sandinista [ Nicaragua ]

The Sandinista National Liberation Front (in Spanish: Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional, or FSLN) is a socialist political party in Nicaragua. The FSLN is one of Nicaragua's two leading parties. Sandinistas took their name from Augusto César Sandino (1895–1934), the historical leader of Nicaragua's nationalist rebellion against the US occupation of the country in the 1930s. In 1979 the FSLN overthrew the Somoza dynasty and ruled Nicaragua from 1979 to 1990. They left power in 1990 after free elections.
